hey, this is my first work posted on these forums, ive just been an onlooker lately :) the level of professionalism on these forums is amazing, and really inspiring...if only i could actually get some work done and not be frantically browsing these forums 24/7 ;) anywho, if you've seen Minority Report, which happens to be one of my favorite movies, then hopefully you will recognize this :) its the hovercraft that the department of precrime used to get around in. I have taken the liberty to skin parts of it my own way due to the lack of good shots showing its paintjob, and my lack of texture skills :P Ive modeled it into its little parking spot at the department, and have tried hard to recreate the scene as close as possible, but have added some things here and there to take up space, although it still is quite different because im no ILM material! :( Im still texturing the stand it is sitting on (thats why its still grey), and some of the other textures will be modified and optimized. and some of the bump maps are reversed, gotta fix those also
the first pictures are mine, the "ILM" picture is the one the boys at ILM did :) :bounce:

I really want some good C&C so i can make this the best I can. Thanks!

Wow, nice modeling there. And don't think the textures are bad. They really are quite nice. I think you could use a little more dramatic lighting to enhance the interest of your scene though. It looks like the craft is just sitting there on a regular, boring cloudy day. Maybe even add leaves to break up all that white. Heck, blur the leaves to make it seem like its engines are still on and they're blowing it willy-nilly. And I think adding scratches, spots, and blemishes on the actual craft could go a long ways. I don't think you ever want a scene to be squeaky "clean," unless you're doing a car showroom effect. Aside from those few things, good job! Kudos to you!

Keep it up!

Lu

P.S. Updates soon please!

I agree with pretty much everything said....
- lighting could be more dramatic, that thing doesnt really have a happy job (chasing criminals) and thus the happy lighting doesnt seem appropriate...
- also, since its a rugged police vehicle, i think it should be banged up a bit more, more scratched on the texture
- speaking about textures, this thing needs a bump map!

but its great, i love the design of the minority report ship.... i thought about modeling it myself, but im lazy :D

good job!

great model! diggiin it big time.

i think that i would actually rather see it on its own though, minus the background (which doesnt seem to match very much).

lets see a wireframe or two... :applause:

I don't get why this has so few comments! It's great. The wife keeps telling me to build one of these. The textures need to be more weathered, but the start is great, and I hope you post more stuff.

Cheers

looks pretty sweet. main thing i see, the holding clamp on the landing pad has a polygonal look need to smooth that out i think...
