View Full Version : .psd in mental ray

When i look in the docs i see that .psd files should be supported by mental ray (even layered files) But when i put one in the colormap and try to render it gives me this error:

When i convert to bmp it works ok.
Is psd supported or not ? :shrug: On this page it says it does?

you did plug it through the "PSD File" node instead of the "File" node, did you?
it works nice here and we use it alot in texturing to get live updates in maya
while working in Photoshop... For final rendering ofcourse .map files rock :D

:thumbsup:Hmm no thanks i try to plug it in as psd node didn't know you had to do that thought you could just put it as file.
