View Full Version : Weird Rotation Bahavior

I have a couple of objects (with different origins)
If I group them together and rotate the group, they rotate in all kinds of directions. (The don't stay together relatively seen).

I did have that befor and I still don't get what maya does here and how to get around it?

Oddly, if I delete the history it's all normal again, unfortunatly that's no option, because I have blend shapes applied.

What shall I do?

Center Pivot on all of them and then group them so then they will work let me know if this works okay

A good Idea but how do I accomplish that?
My Pivots have different rotation / scaling and positions. How can I change them numerically without moving any geometry?

Somehow I think that's a bad fix. Imagine you absolutly NEED different Pivots. (Like for animating).

Thanks for your reply!

freeze tranforms and check the sub-groupings

Sounds like some kind of "double transform" problem. Exactly what history to they have? Have you used some kind of deformer (such as a lattice or twist, bend or similar) in the creation process or are they extruded NURBS objects? If so, you'll have to group and rotate the deforming objects instead of the geometry.

When I "freeze" my objects the geometry gets deformed.
What do I need to check on my sub groupings?

Thanks anyway!

They are polygon models. I did use a lattice for a blend shape on one of the models.. but I've deleted the lattice, when I was done with the blend shape.
