hard to judge with that hard jpg compression..
what did you do?
any special render tricks?
light sources?
cheers

could it be the type of lights that you are using?

no nothing too special. the objects are polys and there are only two lights - a key(area) and a fill(spot).
I have looked at my higher res image again and all they are is mostly pixel sized white dots which appear to be completely random.
help:hmm:

for a test:
-hide one light after the other and see the result
- hide your objects and render
- create default lights and render
- export your objects only to a new scene..
good luck

almost looks like jpg compression artifacts. Try rendering as a lossless format.
Maybe duplicate geometry on top each other and your getting flickering between the two?

well did the export job and although there are 2 or 3 dots still its much better - thanks!
