Hey,

I'm aware that there are around a lot of threads of problems for exporting from Zbrush to Maya, but now that I have the problem I really can't find anything that can help me.
And probably this won't be the last thread like this from me.

I made a tes texturing on a mesh I made. Everything OK in Zbrush (really tried only ONE skin texture on the mesh).
I exported the mesh into an OBJ file and than I saw the bitmap of the texture near the obj file.
And now that I imported the mesh into Maya I see only the mesh no texture. What the heck Am I doing wrong? Am I missing a click somewhere?
Any help would be more than appreciated?

Hi,

you have to make a new shader for your object in the Hypershade because Maya does not import the texture information of the .obj-File and maybe you have to flip the texture vertically. You can flip it in ZBrush, Image Editor or in Maya in the texture placement set the V value to -1.0.

Found the hypershade, selected the texture and everything, but still I can only see the mesh shaded no texture whatsoever.

thanks

You could learn alot by reading the maya help about shading.

You have to add the texture file as color value in the shader by

1. dragging a file node with the middle mouse button on the shader and chose "color" as input

or

2. by going into the shader's attributes and click on the checker button at the right side of color and then chosing "file".

edit: maybe you just have to press '6' on the keyboard so the texture will be shown in the viewport, you tried to render it?
