They can be done on any medium.
If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
You can post an entry at anytime for the topic presented on this thead BEFORE the voting thread for THE WEEK has been posted.
The artist also has to post total length of time it took and program used.

Hey Roberto what happened to 936?

2 excellent pieces so far. Daniel, amazing composition and execution as always, I really love the mood of it. It doesn't seem like a speed paint - it could be straight out of a children's book, it's that good.

Ivy, that's incredible! It feels dynamic, in transition, with the rays breaking through as well. It's got to be my favourite of your daily sketches so far, and I loved your freezing fish and creature with intentions of marriage :) You really are improving at an alarming rate, and your style is coming through. More!

Thank you thek, I am very flattered by your compliments :) I think we need to see some more sketches from you in here, it's a lot of fun doing these and a challenge with the time limits

I started a sketch for this topic but liked it so much I have decided to turn it into a full painting. So like... only more minutes pass the 45 min but not much. I have worked on it for an hour already and halfway through maybe. Maybe I will post when finished. Or just put the damn thing in my portfolio, since my portfolio seriously has moths flying around it because I never put anything there!

oh neat stuff in this topic,

Redfrog, I love your impressionistic style on this
robertt - Your girl looks happy, the whole picture has a happy feel , makes me smile
Zyrinx - cool inky feel to the trees, the white in the bg looks like a big wave has splashed in to shore
Danielh - If only I could sketch people that quickly *sighs

Relm - show us what you have so far, I would love to see the finished version also. The work I have seen you do here is beautiful, I really want to see this one.

Only close to two hours of painting, But I was bored. This painting is dedicated to those like me who wish there were more minorities in fantasy art! I heart mer people, they are very dangerous yet pleasant creatures. Technically I am not finished (You can tell), but I think I will leave it like this.

Relm, I think you really nailed the clouds down.

The composition feels a bit cramped in the front.
I am not sure what you mean by minorities, as cute women are something
of a cliche in fantasy/art generally. If they are mermaids, surely
the sheen of the water on their tails would stregthen the piece.

This is just a sketch, not meant to be anything spectacular. Everything you see there is meant to be the way it is. But thanks for the suggestions anyway although I will not be applying them here because I want the sketch to look this way. Since this is only two hours of work I consider it a sketch, I think over like maybe three hours I consider it a full painting. Lol, I am weird.

I heart merfolk! <3 <3
