View Full Version : How do you space out UVs equally?

I am building a tree and created uvs when it started. But as I am building unto the mesh, the uvs are squashing and spacing themselves differently. Is there a plugin or script to auto-space the polys out equally?

Thanks I already have that toolset but it doesn't space out the uvs evenly.
A UV unwrapping plugin that preserves in the resultant UV space the proportion of each individual polygons' area to the combined area of all polys. Don't think UV Chart does that, either.
Also depending on the shape of an object, the number of seam edges needed to squash the whole pelt flat will vary. If there was a plug that would allow for an interactive compromise between preserving the polygonal proportions and the number of UV seams needed, that would be ideal.
Writing an LScript or plugin that could tackle this would be a nightmare. But someone could do it.
