Hi there

How do i quickly unslect something that i have selected? Right now i have to select everything just to be able to unselect :(

Another one, is there a tool that lets me move Points without having to select them? I´m used to this tool (Drag) in LW, i rarely select points to move them, i just drag them out to where i want them, anything like this in XSI?

Thanks, and sorry for the newbie questions

Ok, but when i press space... it only "moves" me to a new selection method, if i go back to Points Selection, the points are still selected...

Thanks anyway

For moving points, I think the M key should do what you want. Just tap it (Or hold it down if you want), then you are in point moving mode, and you can just drag points around without having to select then translate them.

To unselect everything, in whatever selection filter/mode, just click, drag, and let go in any empty area of the viewport.

The manual is also pretty good for basic info like this..

For some strange reason ( my fault for sure ) i cant seem to deselect anything by draging on an empty area of any viewport. I did look at the manuals, i even searched for "DESELECT and UNSELECT" words, nothing came about it.

Thanks for the info though, sorry for these simple, questions, but i´m sure that anyone used to a Software and trying to learn a new one, is always gonna make these kind of silly questions, it´s a matter of "where is that button or function that i´m used to"

Sorry once again and Thanks for your patience guys, much apreciated

check your selection options in the menu of the selection panel.
you prolly have something like the old SI mode or extended on.
turn all options off.
also to unselect use shift+ctrl+A.

ever bothered clicking the title menus of the MCP sections on the right ? lots of interesting options there :)

To unselect everything, hold down space bar and select nothing.

To unselect specific objects among several, hold down ctrl and spacebar, and drag on the objects you want to deselect.

Note about the space bar that you need to hold it only when you're not in Selection mode. Also, disable Sticky keys in the preferences, and toggle on all 3 bottom options in the Select menu. I work this way and like it very much :)

Hope this helps
