Title: Rei Ayanami: Who does she fight for?
Name: Daniele Federico
Country: Italy
Software: Lightwave 3D, Photoshop
Hi, this is a still I finished last year. This was inspired by my favourite anime series: Evangelion. It is a mix of hand painting (the background and her hair in Photoshop) and 3D (Rei, Eva00 and the moon in Lightwave).
Hope you enjoy my image.

this is brilliant
I'm a big fan of the show
this doesn't look the least bit 3d... I wonder how you got the reflections to sit just right... would you mind showing a wire to show the topology?

Great work! It's just a pitty i'm not fan of cartoon shading. I'd prefer to see them with realistic materials and shadows. Anyway, great job, very "animeish".

As I haven't only one shot of the scene, as I made separate renders , I'm going to show the wires of the characters and a short step-by-step.

Nice work!
Superb use of cel-shading. Her hair looks spot on - must've been very hard to get that layered look
