There are always two parts to be valued in a work: the technique and the subject. About the technique I’ll do my best in order to do everything I can so fast as possible. I certainly doubt I can finish it on time, but I don’t really think that’s the most important thing to be done. My intention is to do the best work ever seen. The subject is something moral: don’t ever give up, if you really work you can obtain the impossible thing. For example, since not long ago all people who had AIDS died. Who was a positive HIV person was sentenced until death. Generally, in just a short time it arrived at phase AIDS and he died in a pair of years. Nowadays the HIV has become a chronic disease with a life expectancy similar to the people noninfected. The investigators really made an incredible work. They didn’t give up and they worked hard. How could I show this moral in my image? I proceed by capturing an instant image that captures the precise moment in that an old man is suposed to go into the culverts. The old man will surely be dressed in oldfashioned clothes, I still I don’t know. But the most important thing, which I would like to show, is how an old and very ill and unhealthy man does his best in order to survive in front of a horrible an unhuman situation and he just does what people think is impossible to be done.

About the place where the action takes place, it will be in the center of a big city. The city will be destroyed and will be died calcined people on the ground. I don’t really know yet, but it seems to me that this city will already have been burned by the flames of a fire some days ago and that is now attacked again.

If there’s time enough I’ll include Patricia on a side of the scene. She’ll appear like a spirit in the middle of the flames, with a low and sad look. Why does this girl appear here? Well, all the past image of the old man is just a Patricia’s dream. This girl is in a full-stress situation and she is worried about the horror. In addition she can see plenty of images of the catastrophe. And it is not rare that she can dream about things like that. Patricia appears here like a spectral figure who can see everything without beeing damaged by anything. She sees the death, but she does not die. It’s a little bit like what happens in a hospital when you know a terminal patient and you know you can’t make anything in order to help him. In the case of the old man, she represented the hope, however in the case of Patricia, she represents all the opposite, she represents the fear, the fear of not being able to change something so near and brutal as well. She finds herself unable to change the imminent future and the only thing left is resignation. Because of that reason Patricia looks into the ground, avoids looking into the death people, she avoids a work that seems to be too big for her. As in the film called DUNE it’s said: "fear kills the mind". This fear is translated into passivity, in doing just nothing. Even if in the book Patricia makes an effort to avoid the holocausto, I do think she also had some moments of panic-crise. And this is the episode that my image shows.

Modelled in wings3D and ZBrush. Still I have to detail more the face. To add porus, wrinkles, etc.

Now I only have done this low polygonal model with Wings3D.
