Hi,
Needin help in 4.5. I want to work on a low poly object while a instanced high poly is being updated in the background or in another file. Thanx in advance....

Try selecting your object and going to:

Polygons > Smooth Proxy

Make sure you look at the options for the Smooth Proxy as well, as there are different ways you can set it up, and some might be more beneficial to you than others.

Thanx guys,
I found that cps toolset which will cure all my poisons..
One day I will learn to look past page 4 in this forum...
