what I thought would be easy has turned out to be a week long stall on my rig
All I want is a bone that controls the outer area around an eyeball, to rotate with the eyeball when it's looking up and down only, not side to side. The eyeball has a lookat constraint so wiring doesn't work nor does locking 2 of the other axis of rotation. I had a script in on one of the rotations and worked until I rotated the head. The script I tried was similar to the wrist twist tutorial in the advanced rigging tutorial. I'm just about to give up on this so if someone could help me to get that action would be most apreciated by a man on the end of his pitifull rope.

I'm losing sleep!......oh and hair!
thanks for reading

I think I got it
I wired the "y" rotation of the eyebone to the updown "z" axis on the lookat targets holder "circle" and added "degtorad z position * -1" to the connection and it worked.
Done deal pal.
