It's pretty simple. I need to put particles (LED) on a mesh that is going to be animated. these are the rules:
a) I need the particles to be orianted on the face axis
b) I don't want the particles to "travel" along the mesh as it deforms
c) I wan't it to be instanced geometry or particles so i don't have to wait forever to render it

I tried Scatter didn't work, tried Pflow, ok, I can't get A and B to work.
I am doing the scene in 3dsmax, cause it's my primer, BUT, I am opened to hear solutions that XSI and Maya offer, cause I can work with all 3 softwares.

Here's the deal;
the LED's are the objects I need to place on the mesh. THE MESH IS ONLY A PLACEHOLDER, the point is to build objects from LED. I saw something quite alike, I think it was done in Entagma for C4d.

THIS WERE SOME LOW QUALITY RENDERS.

I use Mental Ray for rendering and this is the first time I'm using it, I gave up on Vray, to damn slow. I also use night and glare for camera output.
I have some very nice ideas and I want to bring them to life so I would appriciate some help from people of CGtalk ;)
