I'm new to XSI, so if this is a bit too basic if a quesiton, please be patient with me.

So it looks like you don't have to assign a symmetry map in 6.0 to move verts, faces, edges etc.... Which is nice, but it looks like you will still have to do something like this http://softimage.wiki.avid.com/index.php/Symmetrical_Modeling_Setup to model in geometry as you go.

Is this correct?

Thanks

I've been doing it a little differently. I delete half the model, clone it, scale the clone -1 in x, and turn on the symmetry mode in the transform palette.

Thanks for the help!

It doesn't really seem like that big of a deal to do. Is there a common scropt out there for this? Or is it easy to script it? If you have a pointer to either question I would appreciate it.

Thanks again.

Hi Bill,

It's very easy to do with scritping. Just look in the script editor and copy the lines from the start of creating the model to the end of the mirror scaling. Now drag and drop this onto a new toolbar or an empty part of the interface to create a button for it. Presto, a script button. Stuff like this makes it even simple for guys like me
