Hello guys....
That's a new homework which i gave myself.(bastard)

i'll try do model this and maybe animate.Thinking of using max.
it would be great if i had metareyes or somethin' like that but nevermind.

i already modeled the head but too early to show here.

wish me luck.

please tell me your thoughts now,or silence forever please.

Hey guys... thankx..
:bounce: :D :D

i'm glad you like the concept. see if i can handle with it.

the hardest part is those muscles which doesn't have a skin around. What would be the best way to model muscles?
currently i'm drawing them vertex by vertex but that will be sooo hard and boring.:scream:

see ya.

It's still a start.
i'm trying to make the eyes now.
and trying to keep the poly count as low as possible because my pc is not very up-to-date machine.

Hey your making good progress :) I would say to try to keep some of those details you have in the stetch like the flesh over metal look :)

 Nice, I think you are doing pretty good!! It would be good to keep a contrast between the flesh parts and the metal. But I think it is looking really good! I like how you have shown alot of your process modeling!

Looks pretty good, the first thing I thought when I saw it was; GO GO POWER RANGERS! But, erhm... I guess that's not what you're going for ;)

Except for that, keep it up, man :)

wow nice progress.... its really looking like the concept ( even tho I never really thought the concept looked like a mechanical cat :hmm: )

i'm trying to pay attention every word you say.i want an A+

Hello everyone.
it's been a while since i posted my last update so it's time to keep up now.

what's new? well the leg is nearly finished. i used unwrap on all those polygons seperately to make it look like seperated.:)
and i'm trying to make a more realistic metal metarial for metalic parts. i'm afraid it will be a very complex bone system to handle.
but doesn't matter. all i'm workin for is to make it look good.

comments would help me surely.
:)

Emre
03-05-2003, 01:54 PM
no. i hate voltron...:bounce:
i never thought of voltron or power rangers while modeling or drawing the concept.
this's gonna be an assassin.a little bigger than a tomcat. it's gonna sneak into your house and rip you.:airguitar

how do you think it is going?

ARSA

:applause: You are doing a nice job... But I think you should work some more in the textures... They look too flat ( personal opinion ), I mean they look like plastic (personal opinion ), and I'm sure, thats is not what you want to look like.

Also I suggest you to put some scrashes around the surface of the metal ( ArmoR ) is going to make it look less new... you know right now it looks like the first prototype all new and shiny :surprised

And you are missing some of the detail in your concept art... try not to, try to accomplish your complete goal :applause:

But still a good pice of work ! :wip: well done!!!

Emre
03-31-2003, 08:41 PM
Thanks Arsa.
i think it is changing-developing while modelling.
maybe i do another one more like the concept drawing...

:hmm:

Hello guys.

it's been a long time since last time i updated this cat (or something like cat).
i'm also trying to create a new scenario about it's life and being.

By the way, bone system is not working as i wanted,so any ney suggestions about simple and easy ik tasks?

here'r the images,

i changed it a bit.(rear legs and head and chest and pelvis and front claws....:))

This is very good, the only thing that bothers me is that the head and base of the neck area dosent suit the rest of the model. The rest is very stringy and muscley looking, where the head is smooth and made from one large peice.
A more stringy face, possibly more evil looking would suit the body a whole lot better (i think anywayz).
But very good work, and awesome modeling...

Voltron?

Emre
06-19-2003, 02:51 PM
Thanks Bapsis, you might be right. a wilder look should be better maybe. but real cats look more like cute creatures other than wild killers. who can say a tiger is horrible?:)
i was trying to give it a cat-like silly look.but need to work more.
thanks for comments anyway.:)

And Vash T Stampede, do you call every cat-looking robot "voltron" or this one is because you haven't seen voltron before?

Emersive

If this creature is suppose to be a assassin I would add some serious claws and teeth! I like your concept a ton, its really neat.. you need to work on the texturing some more, its already been said but the texturing is too plain, you need to add more detail to textures... this model/concept is really really cool, but its going to be a ton of work to get right, good luck with everything... I am sure it will be awesome when you are done. good work so far!

great work so far, I really dig those new legs, a lot more stylish than the previous updates ;)
but i have to disagree with the head, it doesn't really do justice to rest of the body. make it more agressive, and like previously said, a lot less clean...
otherwise, great stuff man

for those who keep saying voltron, here's what voltron looks like ;)

not sure how some relate it to voltron. This cat is a cool cat, although I believe he would look better in a rusty metal type look, and in a scene scavenging on some robot bird or rat.Better copyright it fast !!!! :scream:

Shotty

Wow, this looks awesome, I love the style.

Firstly the rear leg/s doesn't look quite right, I think the mucsle is a bit lacking, remember the cats muscles on rear legs are doing all the moving.

Secondly, the front leg/paw didn't sit quite right, http://www.travellersworldwide.com/Images2000/photos-india/tiger-3.jpg See the paw/leg is actually quite long, the paw is only small part of it.

A mate once told me, think of the middle join at the ankle, and the feet, the toes, or something along those lines :D

Good luck, looking forward to next update.

:)
Hi guys.

thanks a lot.

emersive : i'm not sure if it's going to be an assasin.i changed my mind.:) but yes i'd better work on claws and teeth. it's got more teeth inside the mouth but not ready to take a snapshot yet.:) i think it should have very small specular maps because it will need to camouflage.i tried a camouflage texture but didn't like.really hard job to make good textures.

toxiczombie : :) i like the rear legs too but may need bigger muscles.the front legs muscles has a skin modifier on it so they strech when i move the legs.:) i got a new idea about the head and will do that new one.thx... by the way, thanks for the voltron pics.:=they look cute.

mora : thanks....i tried a rusty metal texture before too. but still not sure which to choose.:) that bird(or a gazelle!:) scenario is another story.

Shotty : do you mean bigger muscles or different shaped muscles?... yes i'm working on new claws which will do more grip when running and climbing. and of course hunting. but i used cheetah images as reference.as i remember, cheetah have shorter paw/leg and longer upper leg.
overall it doesn't look like a cheetah but inspired by the cheetah.:)

Thx a lot guys.
