If you plan to animate this I absolutely want "Donkey Rhubarb" by Aphex Twin for the music :D
That Adrian Guy
02-17-2003, 02:24 AM
zued: No, he's not a member of the village people!
ThirdEye: Donkey Rhubarb rules! Aphex twin has some of the best drumming ever! NIN has some pretty good drumming as well! Anyway.. that song is funny as heck, I was thinking I could mix that in with the chicken dance by Blue Man Group.
Then agian.. that would require about 20 seconds of animation... YIKES!

Yeeha, that's a mighty fine model you've got there partner. :)
What about giving him a suit as in what superman wears, I think with the shorts he'll look pretty cool, at the moment he looks as if he forgot his clothes :)

Thanks Phas,
He's gotta look at crazy as possible for the final setup. SO I think the boxers are gonna stay a bit longer... for now I gotta fight off the critics who thinks it's demented porn (closed minded pricks)
Anywho... just thought you'd like a progress pic ...just messing around...

Both characters look great! The one flaw I noticed is that there's some stretching on the boots bump map.

Hrm . . I didn't see any porno implications in the donkey and the half naked cowboy (or is that half clothed?) . . .
I do see some political humor here though . . .
I laughed just looking at the donkey itself, so that should be considered the highest form of kudos you could get from me at this point. I can't wait to see and hear the story!

No slow waddle please! That would be far to expected! C'mon! A cowboy and a donkey . . . the donkey derserves more than a waddle and ear flopping! :surprised

Oh... this donkey is going to be tweaking... no doubt about it. The jackass riding the jackass isn't going to be any different either. = )
I'm planning on going for an overexagerated type of motion, similar to what you see with looney toons. Honestly though, I can't even think about animating a non-sliding walk cycle until I get over some huge tech-burdens...
Wesware... I'm going to pirate the bones from your leg rig, I don't know if it's possible but I'm gonna try and give you the all the credit in the world for it.
I should have an update tonight

medula: come to think of it youre right....i guess that rules out kung foo then....not obvious enough....

Orion, Thanks, chief!
Flingster, I just may have to take you up on that kung fu idea.
IK targets and target driven animation ... honestly, how many people out there know how to use these methods!?!?
Anywho... Weswares leg rig is proving to be a bit more difficult to hack than I thought, but what bugs me the most is knowing that it's probably one button press away from working!
Anywho... I made this for sh*ts and giggles:
http://wattupyo.tripod.com/wattupyo/ik_attack.txt
ignore the bone errors... I wasn't shooting for accuracy on this pic
Sooo... just to reiterate, if ANY of you guys know how to use targets, ANY help would be appreciated... then again... none of you guys have XL 7 anymore....
ACK! I'm pretty sure I don't want to install character studio... ... ...

Oh I see, if he's meant to be crazy then yeah, just the shorts is good then. :) Oh I've just seen crazy cowboy in the title, I didn't see that before .
Sorry, I can't help you with your IK problem, I don't think I ever used IK targets, heh that's probably why my animations were so terrible.

That Adrian Guy: lol...very nice.
btw that cowboy is a very slick model...i can see what looks like muscles stretching between his chest/shoulder area....very cool...seems to deform correctly...hard to see as shadow blocks...but should be good end result by all account.

Anyway... I got them working!!!!! (Just an FYI)
Sooo... I'll be posting an animation tonight (2/19/03) Just wanted to reply so no one troubles themselves if they were gonna help out. ( he he)
