The whole video was made in 3dsmax, Textures in Photoshop and a lot of post fx in Combustion.

definitley.
the only criticism i have is a minor one and purely opinion based - but i`d have smoothed out the audio controllers a little so the changes in size weren`t QUITE so spikey. Again, that`s just me though, i still thought the way it is worked nicely with the music, very cool.

Thanks to all of you for your kind replies!

Yeah the red things could last a bit longer... but I wanted them to be extremely fast... also I didn't do this with an audio controller (although I had every single instrument of the percussion as a single soundfile) but hand drew the animation curves over the waveform... lot of work, but alot more precise...

Very clever and to the point, the movement of everything ties in so exquisitely with the audio! Brilliant :)

here's a montage of all the layers which I have used in combustion... it's a bit big and a long load... 'hope you guys don't mind.

btw. I've used mental ray to bake the shadows and scanline to render the final piece...

Wow, man. That was a nice animation. A little weird but cool. Yeah I love ben jordan. Hes awesome. I play stepmania to is songs all the time.
