So I've been trying to figure out a way to accomplish this:

The video in the top left corner, at 0:33, shows hair being straightened. I can't seem to figure out how to get the wet ragged hair effect in Cinema 4D. I know that it's probably just masked when straightened/flattened, but how would I get it to move and pull in like that?
Any suggestions? I don't have the HAIR plug-in, so I'd have to do without that.
