Well, this is something which has been around for donkeys years, and even tho'
Autodesk finds time to release multi-multi versions of
Max, they simply dont seem to find time to fix such a basic and irritating problem.
I'm sure that its not as if they're not aware of it !
Yes, I checked with Max 9 as well .... the bug's still there, thank you
Wahooney, tho' , has found a fix for it ... thanks pal!
You can find it on his site thro this link :

The reason Autodesk barely supports Visual Maxscript is that very few people actually use it.....mostly novice scripters who have not yet been burned by it.
It was a nice idea at the time they made it, but it doesn't really help your scripting knowledge, and it seriously bloats & disorganizes the code defining your user interface. And that's not even mentioning the bugs.....most scripters don' t let it anywhere near their code, and neither do I.
FYI: If you're looking to layout your UI items without having to specify exact positions all the time, make sure you're using the across: common layout parameter. It does make it much faster to throw a UI together. (See the Rollout User-Interface Controls Common Layout Parameters page in the docs)

It was that bug that got me writing plugins again and finally got me writing Rollout Army Knife (shameless plug, I'm sorry).
Thanks for the praises guys, the pleasure has been all mine.
