Solve 02-16-2003, 05:07 AM I was told that Max 4 doesn't work with Win XP so I was wondering if Max 5 works.

Works like a charm.
I'm using it in production now, and I have'nt had any problems. Remember that XP is a memory hog, so you may take a performance hit.
Set the XP gui back to being like win2000, and it will help some.

I just bought a new PC... its fast and Max runs great in XP. I used to disable all the XP stuff but now I leave it and its just as fast! hehe... cool.

They have the cdilla patch to let Max4 run on XP, I have it :)
Im still trying to figure out how to get Max5 to install right, it keeps causing errors and Ive contacted Discreet many times to no avail.

I've been using max 5 on xp for a year now and no problems. I have installed it dozens of times after formatting and everything and never had a proplem. Although there was a time that the transform gizmo disappeared but I just reinstalled and it fixed it. :)

Max5: Um, max 5 hasn't been out a year yet. Why would you need to install it dozens of times? And just to be helpful =) if your transform Gizmo disappears, hit "x" its alot easier than reinstalling.
Solve, I use win2k, but all you need is the cdilla update for XP from Discreet. 3Dzealot is right about reverting to a win2k gui, it will help you with your rescources.
