View Full Version : moving the gizmo/center/pivot point
Hey people
Here's an easy one, but something I just can't seem to figure out:
I have a mesh and it's gizmo is located way far away from the mesh itself. How do I move the gizmo back to the "center" of the mesh? I tried Xform which allowed me to move the gizmo and center, but as soon as I collapsed the stack it went back to where it was before.

Go into the hierarchy panel and you will see a tab for pivot.
There are a bunch of options for you to change the pivot point's position there.
"Effect pivot only", "Center Pivot to Object", etc.
Hope that helps, bro.

Hey man! Good thing this one was a quick and easy fix, thanks. A nice switchup from that Xform mess we went through last time. Hope all goes well and thanks again.

Turned out great. I finally got him in-game and he's swinging his sword like a bad-ass. Since then I did another new guy and now I'm working on my third character. It's a lot easier going through the whole process a second and third time. Max's learning curve is definitely a bit steep but I'm getting there.
Here's a pic of him and the latest model hanging out in the Colosseum:

Thanks again for the help.

Sweet!
What game is this for, if you don't mind me asking? Look's almost...homemade...but in a good way...
Then again...could be a mod...I just don't recognize the engine..

Yeah definitely homemade. It's a single player mod using the Jedi Outcast (Q3) engine that I am doing for my MFA thesis project. The idea is to create a blood-and-guts action game that teaches Roman history at the same time (characters speak latin...objects have trivia triggers attached...environment and characters are historically accurate, etc.)
Anyway it's the first mod I've ever done so it's a bit of a learning process. Lots of fun though.

(Do you work in games? I remember you saying you were in the game district of MD.)
