Very nice work. The fat rolls in it's arm look great. It has a lot of weight to it.
I also like tha fact that it's very familiar and not too alien. Makes you immediately relate to it.
worked on the vessel...

Hell man, your pretty fast.
Thats cool, I actually envisioned it smaller, but now the carriage puts it in perspective.
Looking good, are you going to texture it?
Yes, i already started texuring a couple of days ago, but it still needs some tweaking, i will try to post some images tomorrow.
You are right, with the perspective, as you did not have any kind of reference it looked pretty small...

Very nice indeed, the quadruple horns made me think of the quadruple tusks of the Oliphaunts.
I like the looks of it!!
Let's see some more :)
You are right, about the quadruple horns, the funny part is, my friend Sikk did the concept for this one, and we discovered this fact, when recently watching LOTR2 over. Actuallly, his design was not based on the olifants(as he had not discovered this fact when doing the sketch). It was based on a goat that really has four horns. I will try to scan an image from the book and post it. History repeating...
I already did the texture painting a couple of days ago, so here is one of my first testrenders...

Very nice so far. The only thing that bugs me a bit is that overall the colour scheme seems a bit too uniform. Perhaps you could try adding some more tonal variation to it?
@Leigh yes you are right working on it...
@dreamwave
yes i allready did the tail... try to post a new image soon...

I like that beast verry much..where can I buy one, I like it more than a car..:D
@neox you are right because its the same rendered picture, this is just a photoshop collage for general compositon, i will try to model some background and work on the poses ;)
i am having serious problems with my maya to mental ray, it crashes quit often. and now it won`t render my scene any more. i really worked on the tesselation and making the textures smaller, but i doesn`t help. maybe any suggestions?
@Neox Here we go... maybee you like this one better??
I try to model some more background tomorrow.. good night everybody...
cheers leif

sensational work...
The last post is great, it looks like a painting, how did you get it to look like this?
hi
this is a rendering with mental ray, and as i have serious problems with it, it`s even no raytracing, and has no shadows.
i used about 10 lights to get the mood.
afterward i did a little color correction and some background painting in photoshop.
i hope to get an even better rendering and i hope to find some time to do some detailing in the foreground.
thanx a lot

Leif:I am sorry to have missed your thread to this point. It's been my loss, too many times very nice threads get lost in such a crowd.
I have half a dozen top picks in my mind, but your's has now just entered that elite group. That is very impressive. The little animation really shows more of your efforts very well.I think if you have some spare time you should show a wirerframe and another closer and different angle if possible. The work you have created deserves that, and it would be a shame for everyone not to see more of your very fine work.
Anyways I really think you have a great creation here, very well done in all aspects.Bravo for a great effort.:applause:
