hi,

i'm a college student working on a main character for an animation short. i'm using maya 4.5 - modeling is primarily subdivision surfaces converted to polygons. comments and especially criticism is welcome, thanks!

Wow, there's so much to say about this model . . .

To start on a positve note, the skin is good :)

Crits:

Okay, let's start with the ears. They are not formed correctly. For one thing, they sag down at the botton far too much, giving them that melted look that isn't synonymous with human norm.

Next is the face. The model looks fairly high poly, so it seems as if you should have spent some more time adding details to the face, like eye sockets, and eyes. Even shallow indents in the skull would have made the model look better.

Directing your attention to the back of the head now, the hair does not at all look realistic. It's just . . . perhaps you could some more transpareny to the ends of the hair to fix that, but I don't know if that will help.

Perhaps you could show some front and side profiles of the head to help out with the critquing process? And some flat shaded pics of the model wouldn't hurt either.
