View Full Version : Maya Fluids - container attrs. vs. emitter attrs.
torebjerkan 12-17-2006, 03:28 PM By default the Container's contents method fuel is set to Off(Zero). Looking at the emitter it has a attribute called Fuel/voxel/sec. What's the reasoning here? Can I still emit fuel(or density or heat for that matter) while the contents method is turned off? Why does both the emitter and the container got attributes handling density, temp. and fuel? More control? Please help me figure out the logic here.

As far as I know, if your emitter is emitting heat and fuel but your container is set to 'none' then these will not be working or included in the fluid. The reason the attributes are in both is because one obviously controls the amount of emission - the emitter, and the fluid shape controls the way it behaves in the container ie how light or heavy it is, its ignition temperature, dissipation rate, heat given off etc.

It is also greatly recommended to disable evey unused attributes.
If you dont need Heat...Dont emit Heat. You can also turn it off in the Dynamic Simulation tab.
This really help during playback/calculation.
