Title: Robot Campfire Stories
Name: Mark Monstroski
Country: United States
Software: Photoshop

I wanted to create an illustration in the style reminiscent of childrens books. So I came up with this...an older battle robot tells war stories, while the younger robots listen, drink hot oil and roast bolts on a campfire.

I've worked mostly with pen and ink but for this picture I decided to create everything within Photoshop. Not having much experience with Photoshop and a Wacom tablet, it was difficult for me to get used to the fact that I would have to look at the screen instead of seeing ink on paper.

Comments are most welcomed. Thank you for looking!

This makes me giggle. The poses/expressions are great. Main crit is that it looks ilke the robot is straddling the fire, based on its footing.

I like the idea a lot, and the poses of the characters gets the point across nicely.

When I saw it the first thing I said was Ha!

Good luck in your further adventures in photoshop.

You've got some work to do on learning how to use photoshop to create the impressions of different materials, metal, rock etc, but this is a good start.

I'd also experiment with working at a higher resolution.
