Hi guys,

Please take a look at character I am doing in my spare time. It's remake of a character from Quake 3 with normal maps etc.

Higher resolutional image available here (1,28 MB):

Probably I'll put her into Unreal Tournament 2007 when it'll be released. I think it might be funny to bring Q3 character back to life usung Unreal 3 technology :)

Any comments are more then welcome!

Looks spectacular. Her brown shirt could probably use a bit of color variation, like some splotches or something. Other than that it's perfect. And a little creepy

yeah, i agree it looks very cool. Can you post a non textured render? (to show your normal maps and if so whatever else shadings you have) From these renders it seems that some textured things shouldnt need normals, like paint standing too much out. Not too sure, a render would help with the overall impression still :D

this is really awesome. My main crit is the spec, it seems a little too powerful in some areas of the skin. also maybe the skin neds a little more contrast to really make it pop. I really love the rips in the nylons, looks amazing. like others have said plz post up some views with just the normal applied :D
Cheers

Very cool, I would love to see her running around in quake...it would be hilarious. The only thing IMO you should add is stretch marks more visible on her chest and legs, etc.

Its unfortunate her clothes are so provacitive..hehe

I canīt find anything to crit. The only thing i donīt like is those three things on her stomach but thatīs not your fault. Itīs the design as a whole.

So thatīs some crazy cool things. Hmm you should do patriot next. My favorite character. Heh ;)

Very nice piece. Although I would prefer a thinner sexy chick but nonetheless. This chick is a bad a$$. Would be nice to see it running around in Unreal 3 engine. I'm also waiting on that for many things I'm working on.

Very nice work.

When I saw the thread title, I thought I was going to see a low poly Quake 3 model.

My only crit is that her groin is very square and boxy.

First of all I'm gonna say great work, because it is! Most people sem to be keeping it at that, but I'll toss in at least a little crit. To me the normal maps seem to be overwhelmed with noise. I understand the dirty look, but it looks like everything that is supposed to be metal is horribly corroded in texture (normals) but not necessarily reflected in the color. To me this tends to make the metal look like unnaturally shiny stone. It's not necessarily bad (and I'm sure required a lot of work!) and I'm beginning to think that it's really just a personal preference on my part as I've seen so many people use a similar technique. Perhaps just a quick look over I suppose. Other than that, really, it looks great and as was said before by another poster, it's great (and far too rare) to see a female model that's not the subject matter of every teenage boy's wet dreams.

Good stuff man... it would look great in Unreal engine 3.... can we know the poly count?
And is that wire u posted is of the low poly model?

Metro3d

monkeynutz - Thanks for crits! Yeah maybe you right. I tend to make normal maps stronger because sometimes when you add diffuse map it kills some details. Probably I pushed it to far this time

jesuisankit - Yes you right that was wireframe from low-poly. But honestly I can't call it low-poly there 20000 triangles in it :) I know I know that's too much for games but I want to have higher resolution original to be able easily optimize it when needed
