Advise needed! I'm doing this tractor scoop animation but I need help. (In max)


What is the best way of doing this? Ass you can see in the picture. When the piston is going in, another pice will rotate and the next will push out and that will start to dump the scoop.

This is'nt the best explanation but hopefully the picture will tell it all :)

Rest of the rigging i'v done with reaction manager but can't get this work with it....

It can all be done with bones and HI solvers. The piston is done using a look at constraint and have the two parts of the hydrolic cylinder look back at each others pivot.

Have a look at this.

Just rotate the two spline controls and you can see how it works.
