View Full Version : something 2 hope 4... WIP

Hey everyone.. this is my most recent WIP. I've always had some trouble figuring out how to mix colors as well as studying light and how it reflects. I was hoping that with the help of the great artists we have on board here, that you all could shed some insight for me to learn from. Here is my progress so far.... I'm working in PS7.

BRR, she must be cold! :D!

It looks really cute so far. The right side seems a little empty, though. Are you going to put anything over there?

The colors look nice to me, although you might want to add some touches of tan/light brown in the BG mountains to bring everything together.

Thanks for the insight. I'd imagine she'd be freezing too! I'll try adding some warmer clothes onto her as the image progresses, maybe a scarf. lol I was thinking about adding some more cherry blossoms on the right to fill up the space. I'll try some of the tan color in the background to see if I can bring some more realism to the mountains. Thanks again!

here is teh update... still pretty rough, haven't blocked in the colors yet. tree branches look weird to me...

This is very pretty, and I love the concept! Though I'm wondering about those branches, to me, having them branch out in front of her like that is distracting, almost glaringly so. (In my opinion anyway :D) Maybe if you made them, instead of going in front of her, found a way to kind of have them frame her, that'd add more to the focus of your picture (The pretty girl) instead of detracting? :D Otherwise it's coming along beautifully, can't wait to see updates!! :D
