~2500 faces. 1 1024x1024 texture.
The UVWs were sloppy on my part. But I really just wanted to get something done quick so I could get straight to the painting of the texture.

Rendered with Self-Illumination set to 100%.

Hey great stuff, they eyes are much better and the levels are great throughout the non semi transparent renders that have lost their blacks(ansel adams would be proud :)) or maybe my moniter brightness has changed ;), whatever sorry for rabbiting and i much prefere this texture. The posing is great too, conveys loads of mood.

As a couple of others have asked, is it for a game? It looks really like it would fit in a game, very nice, would be awesome if you could play as that char in UT2003 or something!

She isn't for a game. I just like making low poly models. I like mixing the old methods of character texturing (where almost all the details are pulled through the texture) with new modeling techniques (basically higher polycounts.)
I honestly hate seeing sci-fi guns attached to my fantasy characters.

Here's the texture sheet by itself:
http://www.polycount.com/cottages/souldesigns/lady_death_text.jpg

and the wireframe:
http://www.polycount.com/cottages/souldesigns/lady_death_wire.jpg

She's a fairly basic figure. A lot of polies went into making the more vital curves smoother and less blocky. The breasts, butt, thighs, face (somewhat).

Tim: Thanks :) Yeah. What you said about Dark Knight being dark really stuck in my head while I was making this. So I upped the brightness quite a bit to show things off a bit more.

Hammer: No tuts. No secrets. I just try to do my best.

Hey I really like the model. :) But there is one thing that bugs me. The scythe part of the texture doesn't look as high quality as the other parts. It looks like it is kindof pixelated. Maybe it's just me who thinks that...

Nice model + texture work. I like the character design. I have a few niggles though. First off, I think the anatomy of the breasts is off. I'd get some reference on that and tweak them. Looking at the mesh I think that it is mostly the texture work that makes them seem "off" in their shape. Also the transition on the outside from the hips to the leg seems a bit odd. I'd check out the anatomy on that as well (personally I recommend the Goldfinger book for anatomy). Another thing is that there is some obvious stretching/oddity in the texture coordinates along where the bottom of the ribcage would be. The tatoo on her left arm also looks very unrefined, it appears to just have been airbrushed on. I would make it a bit more defined in its shape and tweak the color/transparency of it.

I don't see what you are talking about with the breasts. I can see how they would be shaped like that, especially since there is fabric around them which could alter their shape. Like if you look at this picture, they are the same basic shape as this model's. http://www.planetquake.com/shattered/shine/images/ref/beauty/jade1_25_01_00.jpg Btw, tell me if posting a link to a naked image is against the rules. I think that, in the context Im using it (and since it was on a reference website), there is no problem with it. But I don't know the exact rules.

Hey dude. this would look so cool in Neverwinter Nights. The polys r to high but that can be easyily fixed with a poly cruncher.

Can you be more specific about the anatomy?

I'm pretty confident that her anatomy should be fine (apart from beeing maybe a bit exagerated).

Of coarse there's stretching on the model. It's next to impossible to keep the UVWs perfectly straight when you move the figure around.

The thing on her arm isn't a tattoo. Though I can see how many could assume that. It's just like the make up on her eyes and lips. And from my experience.. black lipstick isn't shimmery.

very nice model Soul. As you say Brom influenced.
I think her anatomy would be more female... but as i can see, she is a little strong :p

I like the texture more than the 3d model. You made the model better with texture.

keep up the excellent work soul

cheers!
