Nice job, I like the presentation a lot but I have to agree with tokaru about the female model...btw. you might want to look for a mirror because the downloading is taking forever [as per usual with the vfs server ;)] and one of the links is not working [for me at least :)]

Actualy I do: Well done! Not only is it good, it's impressive. I'm glad you tackled that character even knowing how hard it would be to pull off. And the set is a solid immersive piece.

Hey Emily, great job on your reel. Excellent presentation and beautiful lighting and rendering for that set of yours.

I was happily surprised by a scene of animation in your reel. It's a very nice little tough. Did you rig and animate her by yourself?

I have to disagree with totochi1231 though. It looks like you are just transitioning from your day lit to your night lit scene. I would have loved to see the transition happen as if it were a real day passing by into noon, sunset and evening. This would have been a lot more work but would have been sweet.

Great reel, Emily! Fantastic modeling work.

Only crit is on presentation. Right know your not showing as much as you could. There is a lot of great details in the first model that I'm dying to see. Slightly pull back, raise and tilt the camera downwards on your third shot. And maybe just a slight raise and tilt down on the second. Just a thought.

Overall very solid work, Congrats! Good luck on the job hunt.

Thank you! No, One of my friend helps me out with the animation, and the other of my friend taught me how to rig my character! ^^ Yeah! I was planning to animate the lights...but then...it will be toooooo crazy if i did 0.0 coz you know...time is not enough for us! ^^
but yeah...in the future, i would like to try to animate the light, i think it should be fun!!!

FANGtasic, she feels exactly like you, its pretty much a self portrait. i think you got the self portrait dead on. but she is even hotter than you. so which means you did a even better job. it is extremly hard to model something even hotter than real life. very very proud! now that is skill i say.

so you may wonder, to analyze this a lil further, you made your self as a mantis girl. which is a really good representaion of your alter ego?? hahahha

attractive on the first impression, but extremly dangerous inside, eat guys head off!

and about the set, somthing original and taiwanese pride, im glad you went with the 1 shot with day and night change. and the dirty old scripture presentation, really good overall!

nice touch with the caligraphy look!

Emily, Great Reel. I love the animated shot of the manits girl... remindes me of the old stop-motion horror films. My only crit is that I don't know if I like the shadow of the bird in the set. It seems a little distracting to me.

Are you using a special Codec ? I have the very latest Quicktime, yet the video just shows up as green bars. I can hear some of the audio though, and it sounds really cool.

I tried all of the links and downloaded both the high res and the lo res - same results. I also tried the links at your site. ( Nice looking stills )

I just thought you might like to know.

Great stuff always comes out of VFS. Your 3D is really cool. One suggestion I would recommend is in the building sequence you have the cloth on the clothing line blowing with effects. If the wind is blowing like that the rocking chair etc. would sway just a little if not more. Great reel keep up the good work.
