Is anyone using the Logitech MX610 Left Hand Cordless Mouse? There are very few mice made for left handers. I currently use Microsoft Intellimouse Optical USB (which doesn't have a right or left hand bias) which I like, the only problem is that it doesn't have middle button functionality in C4D. It has a clickable scroll wheel, but that doesn't work as a middle button.

Thanks
Randy

I'm always blown away by left handed students that actually move the mouse to the left side. I've tried the whole left hand mouse approach being left handed myself, and the whole computer industry is soooo biased I jsut learned to adapt instead. to find a comparable workflow would mean remapping all shortcuts on the key board as dominant shortcuts in most aps are on the left side (CTRL, SHIFT, Alt, Z,X,C,V,A,S) Theres your copy past save undo etc all in one spot.

You should be able to find a better mouse if that one doesn't allow you to map the middle wheel. I noticed the other day both logitech and microsoft seem to have released a few new mice that are Ambidextrous, in other words 100% symmetrical with fourth button on one side and fifth button on the other. This way its the same in either hand. Seeing both companies get back to this approach suggests a lot of unhappy lefty's. me, I've conformed except for my tablet, which I have to draw with in my left hand.

I use the Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 1000 which is also not biased for right or left handed use (I'm right handed though). This mouse also has just a clickable scroll wheel as middle mouse button but Cinema does recognize it as the middle button.

Don't know, maybe a setting in your Cinema or Windows?

Sure it has a middle mouse button. If you're using the mac though, don't install the driver software, there's no point because anyway the apple already recognises the mouse out of the box and see's it's keys, and secondly the driver software overides the natural buttons thus removing the middle mouse button functionality. if it's on a pc (or you really don't want to get rid of the driver software on the mac) then you will have to scroll through all the functions in the driver control panel for the middle mouse click till you find the one that relates to teh mmb, unfortuantely though they don't name things very well i.e. it's not simply mmb or middle click as i recall and I can't remember what they call it, but the option is there somewhere, it may take a certain amount of trial and error.

I agree, I have the same problem. I use the mighty mouse, which is nice because it doesn't have a bias, and has a middle mouse button (the scroll wheel can be pressed for a middle button).

totally agree with per, unless your mouse has some of those crazy extra like logitechs media mouse with the VCR controls on it, I personally wouldn't recommend software drivers on either system the default drivers typically seem to have the least amount of hassle, just plug and play on both OS has always worked best for me.

If you're on a Mac, I would reco USBOverdriveX over probably any driver software.

I don't get the mousing with the left hand thing. I always just used the right.

I pretty much have to use my Wacom pen with my left though. That actually works out pretty well 'cause I can pen and mouse without having to switch anything. :)

I've switched my most used Cinema key commands over to numeric keypad and the tablet has the same keys on the left and right side so Command, Option, Shift and space are all within reach. 4, 5 & 6 become Move, Scale, Rotate and temp rectangle select is 0 (zero).

Works well for me.

I wish Adobe allowed complete customization of shortcuts like Cinema does.
