View Full Version : Matte Painting - Land-/cityscapes only?
Drag-N 12-12-2006, 12:54 PM Does the term matte painting only cover the making of land and cityscapes using photo reference/3D, or does the it also include making, for instance, creatures using the same techniques?

yes matte painting is totally enviroments only, the techniques used in character texturing or anything else should not be called matte painting, actually the term is a traditional name no longer should be called like this, as dylan coles says it should be called digital enviroment creation or imagery.
