Good job Dakanmer, i like it. I think the figure could use more motion that relates to the vortex.

Well I originally wanted to put him in a crucifiction pose but my teacher told me to leave it be. This is one of my strongest peices but after looking at the majority of the work on this site I feel like a total chump. Im new to digital effects and computer art so yeah ....im a rookie.

Well it definitely looks to be inspired by alex gray, so good work on that. I'd say the major downfall is the composition, it's kind of confusing of where my eyes should go.

I think with a little more attention paid to composition and your basic design principles you could turn this into a nice portfolio piece. Your technical knowledge of the PS tool-set is completely up to par (I see no major issues), now I would suggest working on your concepts (or methods of idea creation) and avoid the typical ideas and branch out into something unique. So in essence, I suggest keeping on track technically and working on your ideas to break out of the visual and conceptual clichés.
Hope this is helpful
Cheers
