I like this plug. With a little tweaking, you get a nice GI lighting without the rendering overhead. I believe the author's webpage is here: http://savards.fuzehost.com/index.php.

Btw, I think that Paul Everett's LightPro 2 is a must-have companion for this plugin.

I can't get my lightgen plug out of HDRShop to work. It seems to freeze . I get an empty window that gives me an execute and a cancel button. It came up with the actual interface once and I followed the tutorials. Has anyone else had this problem. also the file that I import. is it the .pfm file?

Any help would be appreciated!!

For Lightgen, the HDR source image should be in Latitude/Longitude format and really small, something like 128 x 64 pixels. With bigger images, Lightgen will freeze. So, all you have to do is to scale your source image in HDRShop.

There is a bug in HDRShop where the app will report a plugin failure, but LightGen will still create the output file (provided the image is 128x64). For HDRShop/C4D import, the target format should be a simple text file. The pdf format is, I believe, the internal format for LightGen.
