This caterpillar is part of an information dvd about some new building and bla bla bla.
Overall shape is based on many photographs of different caterpillars. The colors are based on the logo of the client and run through into the butterfly the caterpillar changes into.
All modelling and rendering done in Lightwave 9.0 on Apple.

It is very cute! It looks like it wants to give you a hug :D
It looks very cartoony and supposing that's what you were going for, it is very well achieved. My first crit. would be about its legs. Thy look very un-natural right now, especially the back legs. I hope you'll understand where I'm pointing at, but nevertheless I really like it right now. I think you did a very nice job on the texturing. Maybe it could look interesting with a tiny amount of transluency, to make some parts of the bug look more fleshy? Like the tummy or legs.

It looks like it needs to be holding onto or standing on something. Is it going to be doing anything?

really cool modeling, and i specially like the textures! Well done!
I think to make the hole thing even better, you could use a little bit of SSS.
