Hi, this is the first personal image I've completed in about 10 years. This is mostly an, ahem, homage to the rendering style of Chris Van Allsburg.

:arteest: I trying to create a lonely, lost-in-the-starry-night mood.

This was done in Cinema 4D with minimal post editing -- just a the addition of noise and the some minor corrections to the outlines.

I have some criticism of it myself, but I'm sure there'll be no shortage here...

I like the fountain and the effect to create the outline, how did you do that one?
well its one thing that its not bad at all ofcourse, but I see a number of mistakes at first sight. I guess it was not the general idea to make the seal a part of the wooden part in front of your boat. Maybe if you make the front thinner and add some detail you will solve that one.
If you want to relise the effect of loneliness you will to do more, I would add a model of a sad looking woman and put her in stead of the wooden front thats up there right now. The flag that on top of the staff could be more realistic in motion ( ClothSym plugin ;) for Max, or is this Maya of XSI? )

any I guess there is work to it though!
Nice and hope to see an update soon
