I know you are not done yet but the upper gums feel a little undefined, more detail might make them appear more aggreasive, but just my 2 cents. For the legs and arms... no diplacement ... only mixed LW procedurals..... ;)

I know Im repeating myself, but THIS IS EXCELLENT!!

My prefer camera-render would be something between the second one and the third one.
That's why I think the first focus the low part from your model, the part with less detail and we can't see the part of the head, really god.
The second one I think is ver simetrical, very in front of the middle of him. not a very good "composition".
The third one is the limit of I considere the perfect camera to this scene.
so, for me you should rotate the second camera (second pic) a bit by the horizontal axes, to see clearer the part of the head and shoulders and then rotate a bit in the vertical axe to the rigth.
It depends of the final view, you can do he walks more in the left (of him) to do not simetrical. well as you see.
I hope my point of view can help you. but it's a personal taste :)

some ideas about the environment:
in a prison like that, with such solid looking doors, there wouldn't be need of a guard like that...
i think a "normal" barren cells prison would definitely be more appropriate, and that would explain the sword over the shoulders, he keeps it ready, like he's used to poke the loudest prisoners through the bars...
yes, more dust and filth on the floor...maybe an arms reaching for the light?
(versione italiana mo'...:D sporca per terra che deve essere bello lozzo che se no che prigione e'!! Le sbarre al posto dei portoni spiegherebbe anche la griglia sul soffitto. se tanto le porte sono chiuse, non c'e' bisogno di far entrare la luce da sopra...a chi serve..alle guardie?)

If he his walking, I suggest you to balance him a bit more ... let his hip rotate, his spine bend, and shoulders rotate on the other way, maybe he will lose this "too static" pose :)

dies-irae: You are right but I din't think a lot when I modeled the environment.... I produced all kind of particulars that I thought... in complete "free fall"....
For the big door Vs barred jail cells I think that is more interesting that you can't see what kind of abomination there are imprisoned beyond..... uah uah uah.... I don't know... something of another dimension....
Another particular, I think, nice could be some ripped torn that fall from the upper grid... or chains .... no?
In generale effettivamente un pò più di lozzume ci starebbe bene... magari anche qualche carcassa per terra....
