Hi everyone

I'm doing some cel render style animation for Flash and was just wondering if there was a way to create "white shadows". I don't have Sketch and Toon, I tried using the cel render effect with the the shadow colour changed to white but that didn't work.

I've been playing around with the FlashExV2 which does a decent job of exporting the limited number of objects except for the shadows. So, no shadows with this plug in?

The only success I have had is to isolate the shadows with a multipass rendering and use Photoshop to change the colour of the shadows. That's a bit time consuming for what I have in mind.

Any suggestions?

I gave the "white shadow" prob a few attempts unsuccessfully, so I'd probably handle it in post as well. On a another note, you did remind me of a coo tv show i used to watch growing up :

thanks!

White shadows work for me using the sketch shader, you can of course also do them by making an inverse light as a shadow caster. But using the sketch & toon "Cel shader it's easy to create white shadows, just enable the shadows and make sure you're cel shader is in the illuminance channel, not the color channel.

You could try using multipass rendering to output just the shadows. You would then have a black and white mask of all the shadows in your scene that you can use to turn just those parts of the image white (in post).

a white negative light set to SHADOW CASTER in the detail tab will cast a white shadow, and it won't remove illumination as shadow casters are meant to only cast shadow without illumination
