Not a tutorial, but it tells you how to use it and what each option is for - look in the Maya Manual LIbrary (press F1 while in Maya). In the "Character Setup" section, look for "Deformers", and below that look for "Using Bend Nonlinear Deformers".

Buy the alias wavefront starter's book, it has some nice tutorials on how to squash and stretch.

pretty basic deformer...pick an object, and place the deformer on it right?

what you should get is a line...go into attributes, or channel editor (Preferred) and open the attributes up for the bend if its not displayed already...what shows up...

envelope - uh... i actually dont mess with that.
low & high limits,
but most importantly curvature...

i usually click on the curvature attribute in the channel editor and then go in the viewport and middle button drag left or right to adjust the value... what it will do is create a curve like if you were 'bending' a pipe... the geometry will be affected accordingly... you will probably have to rotate and move that bad boy because of its default placement but wont adversely affect the geometry. dont delete the history on the object, unless you want the bend deformer gone/not adjustable...

you will just have to play with it. its So simple Yo... the most useful way i have used it was to deform a hand i modeled into its natural slight small hump it has in the formation of the palm & thumb. and to add natural looking curves on tubular type geometry... like a caterpillar body...
