EITG has requested me to put out a general call for new works to be published on the upcoming "new" EITG website. If you have images for the gallery or for general integration into the website's design, please provide links to those images within this thread. This will give EITG a centralized place to find everything.

If I give you images made with EIM, will you promise to get EIM off the dead pool list? :)

I typically model in ArchiCAD then import everything into EI Animator. Here are some links to images. Please credit Designimations with any images you use. I'll provide a logo if you like.

http://www.designimations.com/projects/Shawsand/
http://www.designimations.com/projects/morgantown/

I can find a few more if these don't suffice.

Good luck,
Terry

Hey.. if we can rekindle interest in EIAS and get things moving again.. who knows what might happen.

One other "minor" thing that that has been discussed on this forum was long filename support. I think Blair said this might prevent backward compatibility, BUT if this made it into 6.6 I know at least one PPC user that would be willing to pay for that feature.;)
This is a major headache, as complex file names end up being abbreviated to the point of being incomprehensible

There was some discussion of supporting object names/texture names longer than 32 characters within Animator as well.
Example
Animator truncates long filenames of textures and models.

As an Example:

Texture-Blue-Water-002-LongFilename.img
Texture-Blue-Water-003-LongFilename.img

Difficult to tell which is which when they appear in Animator like this...
http://forums.cgsociety.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=101734

Don't know if Xcode helps with either of these, but (if easy) these would be great little enhancements, along with scroll wheel support that would be a great little enticements for the $100 UB upgrade price.

Some animation (http://www.funnylittlemen.co.uk/Quicktimes/Boxing_Final01) I did earlier on, the same animation, half resolution (http://www.funnylittlemen.co.uk/Quicktimes/Boxing_Final02Lowres.mov).

IMHO, all existing gallery material should be migrated from old site to new.

Furthermore, you should redirect old links (http://www.w3.org/Provider/Style/URI). But some people may consider that an excess of professionalism (I don't), or not know how to do it (and ignore the problem).

Is EITG planning on using the actual images, or links to those images? I do not leave images up on my server for an extended amount of time.

I'm sure they'll want actual images. When the new site is up and you've seen what they've selected, I'm sure you'll be able to take the images off your site.

Hi, Luca
You have very interesting work in your website. Really catch my eye the Prada animation and stills; besides the enormous modeling work, the lighting itīs beautifull... you did it with GI?... i canīt imagine the render times.
Great work.

Yes!!! Prada is a big project! The original work is modeled with FormZ and rendered with EIAS 2.7.5........ but all is recalculate with version 3!!! For exterior shot i used a Camera Map! No GI!

Do they need completely finished stuff? Most of my stuff are just WIP. Any deadlines on the site or images dates? Are the tutorials going to be carried over? How much time is their left. Just found out about this, no one told me.

Where have you been hiding, Diego?
Your work will make a huge difference to any EI gallery.

Why not get the plugin developers to provide still images and movies for the EI gallery?

There's some great work on their sites. It would make EI look better and, with a little caption, would advertise their plugins, too.

:eek:Wow! it's a big honour to read all this comments from EIAS users, I was hiding a little because up to now 3D was not my first dedication, (audio visuals art installations) But now it is my job, and as you can see on my web I work on visuals for music world, and I started to work in architectural visualisation.

But I need to say that I was a silent observer of EIAS forums for many years (2.7 broadcast my first EIAS version) and I have learnt a lot from EIAS community, my English now is a little better and I think it is time to share my work and if anyone want to know something about the process of any of those works, i will be happy to explain them.

Cheers

EITG has had a good idea

There is now an FTP site for us all to use to upload our images for them.

server: eitechnologygroup.com
username: leave blank
password: leave blank

1. Go into the 'incoming' folder.
2. Create a folder with your name and upload your images into it.

I have started the ball rolling with some images I found in this thread, I hope no-one minds :)

What iīm doing wrong?

richardjoly

I don't think you can upload a folder inside "incoming". You must create a new folder with your name on it inside "incoming" with your FTP program and then upload the content of your folder inside the one you created. At least, that's what I did...
