Hello all,

i want to affect the particles that are most far away from a field while the others stay in their place. Step by step the influence moves towards the field.

I´ve attached an illustration.

Has anybody an idea how to do this ?

well its simple:D

in maya, there are two ways to do this

--------------------------------------------------------

make a field...for example gravity
set the gravity field to be a volume shape (eg : sphere or cylinder)
set the the " volume exclusion " option..
U can scale ur field's volume as much as u need.

now when the particles get out of the volume they will be effected by ur field
if attenuation is "ON" they would be gradually getting into the field force..

this way the particle which are far off (out of the volume of the field) will be effected...
but the once which are near to emmitter(inside the field's volume) will not be influenced.

------------------------------------------

another way is to just set up a field with a volume shape where ever u need..
this time don't set exclusion on..but keep attenuation on.
when the particles reach the field they will be influeced within the field's volume

------------------------------------------

i hope u can work out wht u want using this..
lemme know if there is any probs :bounce:
