Title: Peugeot Globy for 4th peugeot design contest
Name: Vahid Tehrani
Country: United Kingdom
Software: VRay

The Peugeot Globy is the first spherical vehicle. Its “simple” design allows the drive to navigate through narrow streets of the city or on the autobahn. This makes the car “accessible” to any kind of environments and situations.

The Peugeot Globy is “pleasurable to drive” as it has just one touch pad for its whole navigation. Hence, it can be controlled just with one finger, like we navigate the mouse course on our laptops.

Its external spherical glass cover can be rotated 360° in all directions which runs with the electromagnetic suspension technology that Japan and Germany have been using for the maglev transrapid trains. This “efficient” and “ecological” technique uses a small amount of electricity to run and can be charged from any ordinary household plug.

The Pegeot Globy has been designed for the whole family as it has a “lively” interior which can carry three passengers plus the driver and still offers space for other items.

Very impressive idea and design, renders are interesting but I personaly find them to be little too reddish...the picture where you show the "travelling ball" looks really good too with that blur effect added. The only thing I dont know here is - How do you get into this vehicle?

Well, it certainly got my atraction, and I definitely ain´t the only one.
Might consider doing render picture of interior also, at least I am very interested in how it looks inside, and specially how it is to be inside of this Globy
(perfect name for this concept btw)

Good luck in this contest ;)

have you thought about how this thing stays stable when parked?

Its pivot is near the ground, and also its weight holds it stable when its not moving.

Nice concept, maybe consider some renders on a neutral blue/grey background to make your "car" standout more... and perhaps a standard road texture or something less distracting would help your design as well.

As for the functionality, some shots with open doors and interior would help the viewer (and judges) understand your car more.

One thing that scares me though when I see the motion shot would be the risk of the mechanism jamming and the interior of the car spinning along with the exterior.

Great work, would like to see where you end up with this concept.

Cool design and invention!

crit: If this car were produced I think that black exterior web material (I'm guessing it's the traction stuff) must be clear or translucent at least. If it were black like shown it would be a distraction nightmare to have that flashing past as it turned. But who knows...
