UPDATED!
Problem Solved.
The pivot was not centered and that caused the problem.
Centering the pivot solved the problem. Wierd but true.

I have some problem with Motion Blur in Maya 8 nd Mental Ray.
This is the render.

I tried to cache the geometry and group it together with the camera and scale it down to 0.1. And that actually make it render correct, but that wont work for this project.

Is your shutter more than 1?

I used default settings for all MB attributes.
The object had three deformers, 2 lattices and squash.
I solved the problem by duplicating the object, center pivot, move it to origo and freeze transformation. I then i then added it back to the deformer sets and deleted the original geometry. I still think it's wierd that that caused the motion blur problem. The only thing i can think of is that the bounding box was misscalculated.
