Hi there,
It's time to buy a new monitor and leave my lovely CRT rest.Except from 3D modelling i want to use it also for Games of course.
My budget is about 240-260euro, so i'm closer to 19" LCD.
So there is only one question....
What is better? 4:3 or Wide Screen monitors (i think they are 16:10 not 16:9)?
I spotted two Wide Screen displays i like:
LG L194WT-SF and PHILIPS 190CW7CS S/B
The LG has impressive contrast(2000:1) both have 5ms response
Any other suggestion?

I can't give you a definite answer to this - because this all depends on personal preference.
Some people find they can work with 17" widescreens (yes, they do exist :)) As for me, with a 19" I'd definitely go for a standard 4:3 screen. Widescreens become really useful when they're larger - 21" and above, IMO. Also consider getting a standard screen, then sometime in the future adding another standard aspect screen - two 4:3 displays make for a very comfortable work config. However, if you're sticking to a 4:3 and have enough for a 19", consider stretching your resources for a 20". See, 19" LCDs have a 1280x1024 native res - a somewhat odd aspect (1,25 as opposed to the more standard 1,33 which all the standard resolutions give you). In addition, it's the same native res as a 17", just scaled up. 20" LCDs work at 1600x1200... and personally, I wouldn't go below that for work.

Thanks for the reply, very usefull information.
You make me think more clear :p, i was blinded by the 19" widescreen displays.
Since i have a 17" Sony CRT I'll try to go for a 20".I didn't thought that the aspect ratio of 19" LCD is 1,25 an not 1,33.
