Hi there,

I'm just currious, i'm using lw and max.
Is this possible with max (without adding extra polygons...).

All regards

i dunno, but i dislike videos where the person talks mono- on purpose :thumbsdow . anyway, i'm not really sure. max has the weightin and all that of course but i don't think you can do it as easily as you would in that video. and boy it sure looks easy

hey Dogs,

You are wrong, both maya and XSI have it.
Acording to the users on the forums that is.

upon further investigation i found max has it as well ..its in the meshsmoth rollout under sub selection..but its not nearly as good as what i saw on the movie in cinema 4d and yes i use xsi and it has somthing simalr ..but it has no control of haw much weight you can put on it..its either hardedge or not but not inbetween...but im no xsi expert..i may just not have seen it in xsi while using it cuz im so used to adding xtra edges:p

Idunno, I'm sure I'm missing something.

That Bridge connect tool looks pretty hot, I wonder if there's a script somewhere for that.

If you want hard edges transition to smooth just assign a different smooth group number to the polys that you want make the transition.:)

try meshtools, it has a 'connect' function that does this..

Chamfers r the best i would say, even though you can weigh it in max meshsmooth, or nurms on the editable poly, then go and select edge subobject in the smoothing rollout and scroll down, youl see some weight properties and such. however i think that is less effective then chamfers or smooth groups, but smoothgroups make the edges too sharp.

there is also the crease tool in editable poly, does exactly that (in max 4/5)
