One's car reflects his personality ,his temper, his lifestyle.
We all seek the perfect car for ourselves,a car that matches all that we desire,
a car that matches like a glove, a car that completes us.The One car that is
beyond our daily needs of transportation;the one car that can not stay in the
garage alone for too long or in the backyard of our house , the one that
was made to take us to places we have never been before , the one made to enrich
our life ,the one made to complete us ...
Please ... let me present you'the drive of your life'...
When i started with a blank piece of paper i was thinking of a car of
a powerful ,strong man ... a car that reflects his masculinity ,his might;a ferocious
and merciless car.A LIVELY car.
The main inspiration was the shape of a shark , one of the most powerful ,fierce
and deadly animals. The front part of the car in side view actually resembles the front
of a shark...also the back part of the top view was inspired from the tail of a shark
viewed from the side (the rear fenders actually are the shark tail fins).
The canopy is made in full glass so that the passangers can enjoy the drive.Inside the car
you no longer feel narrowd down ,you can freely admire the scenery wherever you go; it should be
a PLEASURE to drive it.The two orizontal rails on the canopy reinforce the chassis of the car
increasing the safety of the passengers.
The interior of the car is very SIMPLE.All the controls are located in an EFFICIENT way on the central console,
actually a touch screen. From there you have acces to the computer of the car that operates all
the controls from lockin/unlocking doors ,audio controls lights and all others. Some of the controls
will be located on the steering wheel for better ergonomics for the driver (shifting gears etc...)
The overall shape is very SIMPLE;it gets narrower in the back and the canopy follows the shape of a shark.
However the 'monster' inside is calm ... he is somehow hidden inside a shell
(created by the front fenders) and the anger and fierceness are toned down a little,
he is resting peacefully but always watching because once unleashed he is ready to bite the road.
This fellow means you no harm but if you mess up with him you will get a taste of his wrath.
The rear also unveils the evil spirit of the car.An evil smile thrown back at another driver
after you passed in front of him ...leaving him behind.

and a 2d sketch

Good, good, good... Very good concept and modelling... I love everything on it...
Smooth curves and stiff lines combination is very contrast thing and looks very good on it..

The wheels could be better. They don't tie well with the rest imo.
Also some lines are too sharp.
12-04-2006, 08:28 PM
hey, nice concept, good luck in the contest.
12-04-2006, 08:34 PM
love the rear lights concept. never seen those before.
i have to agree with the wheels tho. kinda too large for such a sleek looking car.
other than that, very cool car. looks effin fast.
good luck in contest

the shaders are standard (tweaked a little bit tu suit my needs):
-metallic paint phenomenon for car paint (the one that comes with mr for maya 8)
-dielectric for glass and the rest some blinns phongs and dgs materials
the lighting setup ... if more of you are interested i think i could make a little make of ... if i'll find some time in the future ...
... and thank you for your wishes ...

Beautiful design! I'm intrested in seeing the interior, any renders of it?
12-04-2006, 09:17 PM
great design  and verry cool and clean render
bafta la concurs !
12-04-2006, 09:18 PM
That's a very nice and clean design. The concept is coherent, organic and very "Peugeot-ish". And it's a CAR. Most of the cars sent to Peugeot contest are not really cars just design excercises. I hope you know what I mean. So I like this one a lot!

i've added to the second post some of the words also sent with the images to the contest ... they were written somewhere late in the last night after a long day of renders ... some of them make me laugh now... but they are still written by me :)
zamurai - there are no interior renders ... beside the seats and the steering wheel there's no detail for the interior ... so i thought a render would have been boring
AndreiSzasz - thanks:)(multzam)
hundredthirtyseven - i think at the beginning i was walking on the same road of "design exercises" ... it's a pitty peugeot will not post all the entries on theirs site ... or at least i could not find that ... it would have been very helpful ...

Good job man
Nice concept and render,

Just when I think I've seen it all, bang!! ...What an extraordinaire and ferocious design.
this is outstanding. congrats, BTW why does it say PLEASE in the rear?
12-04-2006, 10:25 PM
"please" was the theme of the contest ...

:):):) thank you folks for your kind words... i must admit i was not expecting this kind of feedback ...:)
12-05-2006, 01:04 AM
SWEET design! I'd buy it. Hope you do good in the contestl.
12-05-2006, 01:22 AM
this is the lighting setup for one of the scenes .... you will spend most of your time adding and moving those planes around to catch the lights where you want on the car ... however this was not the scene for the final render ... almost in all of them i did other passes with just the specular highlights and composed them in psop (screen or something like that) .... but that's the big picture ...
12-05-2006, 01:57 AM
Nice setup. The lights I suppose are for specularity only, or do they light as well? FG doesn't create specualrity as long as I know, I might be wrong though.
I used a HDR sphere with blurred HDRI image and one direction light for specularity. I suppose your setup gives better results and is more flexibale, thanks for the tips.

*looks promising concept!!..congratulations!

Cool concept and awesome renderings!
12-07-2006, 02:07 PM
Great renderings. As a car designer i have some advice for you. As a rule never ever have a company's logo facing downward.
12-08-2006, 08:29 AM
Interesting design. I like the sideview. The concept art is great! :D
12-09-2006, 03:00 AM
Thanks for sharing the lighting setup. Beautiful shapes on your vehicle :)

I just wish this were REAL. There are so many brilliant masterpieces just lying in wait to be discovered. This being one of them. Could have fooled anyone as real. Love your futuristic taste. Brilliant!
Nothing critique-wise to say.
