hi everybody, planning to get an external h.d. about 500 g.b. for the backup.....question is what specs. should i look for rather than the rpm and the buffer?
im going to use the copy/paste to transfer the data and speed is very important as im gona do it twice a week.

please help

Obviously you'll need to look at firewire and/or USB 2.0 equipped EHDs. Most everyone these days are specced with it anyway. Fwiw, I use a couple of Maxtor One Touch HDs and have proven to be quite reliable. You can also build your own.
