Hey guys i have a project, and one of the characters involved i wanted to have areas affected by cloth effects (usin 3ds max8).
Ive done a few test with the cloth modifier, to see what happens with different technqiues, one using the garment maker and creating the sections using splines while the other test comprised of quickly building the clothes around a model. It seemed the spline method was the easiest, but i couldnt seem to get the control of the cloth that i wanted.
Now i am modelling my character and i was wondering is it worth even modelling the body or just model the garment, then select sections of the clothing that would act as cloth. Im also thinking about animation here, as the character will be climbing into things and i wont know how the cloth will behave untill ive done the animation and simulated the modifier.
I guess the next question is, is it even worth it?! It would be a nice touch, as from the model ive based a very auron look, for the collar and that affected as well as the baggy sections on his arms would be a nice touch.
Thanks for the help guys.http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/2118/bodymodleth5.jpg
