writte AEX files?

how does one writte and edit aex files? wich compiler and wich language is used to do it?

After Effects is compiled using Visual C++ or CodeWarrior, respectively. Unless you have the source code, you cannot edit the files except for changing some strings in a Hex editor. Simple as that.
