Viking, thats pretty cool! Maybe youve done it on purpous, if not, the eyes are a bit to far from eachother (you should be able to get one eye inbetween the two for spaceing) allso the nose could be bit smaller maybe. But I like it the way it is too! Its nice. ;)

Ok, I've been messing around a bit more, and this is what I came up with.. Thanks ikuru and gulkan for your help! (Gulkan, I'm not quite sure what you mean "out of place" ... but I touched up the nose, so maybe it's corrected now (or maybe not..): )) And Lman, that was the cutest thing, ever! xD I couldn't help smiling all the way.. haha God... dammit... XDD

Looong time since I posted anything here, but saw this subject while pondering on doing some faster work, and I've been itching to draw my pirate queen for a while too, so what better excuse, taking "cute girl" in the sexy sense!

Viking Heart, thats a great start you've got there, love the freckles, and the shine in the iris is gorgeous.. you might want to add a little shading to the whites of the eye too, in a similar fashion, as they're flattening off that great work!

And Gulkan, great quick sketch, I'd have just left it as the biro version though, you seemed to capture the essense without the smudgyness just fine!

And here's mine, plain ol' pencil, about an hour and a half, on A4 sheet of paper. Her right foot as we see it is waaay too big, need to fix that... And don't let the innocent cute look fool you, she's got a mouth on her...

Here is my try at it. First I sketched it on paper, then redid it in photoshop and added color. I ran out of time for the shading, especially on the face.
Not sure how long it took. I kept getting distracted, probalby an hour.

Zephyri - Thank you for your C&C. I guess, like most artist "knowing when to stop" is my dilemma here. I might end up ruining the feel of that simple first sketch. But I yet to put the butterfly she is dancing with, and maybe some happy daisies:)

I am obsessed with my style of Merfolk. So much that I write stories about them. They are very pretty but not that nice. :) And KILL human who come too close to their seas. :twisted:I like to experiment with different paint style with them. But she is sooo cutteee awww. About an hour.
